Senator Slom Endorsed by Hawaii Right to Life PAC
Senator Slom is endorsed by the Hawaii Right to Life PAC. See their Endorsements page here. Senator Slom is a champion for right to life issues having supported and introduced legislation to support the rights of the unborn and the sanctity of life for all persons.
Honolulu Star Advertiser Endorses Slom, Enos
The campaign thanks the Honolulu Star-Advertiser for its endorsement:
“Senate District 8 (Kahala-Hawaii Kai): Republican Sam Slom, a strong advocate for small business from his position as president of Smart Business Hawaii, merits a fifth term. He calls for cutting taxes, maintaining that increasing business investment and jobs is the way to create more state revenue.”
The Star Advertiser also endorses 25th District Senate Candidate Virginia Enos. Senator Slom highly recommends a vote for Ms. Enos if you live in the 25th district.
The Rock That Common Sense
and Conservative Values is Built On
“Senator Sam Slom is the rock that common sense and conservative values is built on in the State Senate. It is in everyone’s best interest to reelect Senator Slom.”
Aloha
State Senator Fred Hemmings, Minority Leader
(as with old soldiers soon fading away)
Senator Slom and Senator Hemmings have been working together in the State Senate since 2000, when Fred was first elected. Before that Senator Hemmings spent several years in the State House of Representatives and ran for Lt. Governor in the 1990s with former U.S. Congresswoman Pat Saiki. Senator Hemmings is also a world renowned former professional surfer. He retires from the State Senate on November 2.
BUILD-PAC Hawaii Endorsement
Senator Slom is happy to announce that he was endorsed by BUILD-PAC HAWAII, the political affiliate of the Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii). The formal letter sent to our campaign by Karen Iwamoto states: “BUILD-PAC Hawaii, the political action committee of the Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii), reaffirmed its endorsement of the following candidates in the General Election: State Senate District 8 — Sam Slom.” Big Mahalos go out to that organization.
Pro Business and Pro-Open-Door
“Sam is compassionate and understands the daily struggles Hawaii’s local business owners and entrepreneurs face every day, especially in these economically turbulent times. His years of hands-on business experience and energetic leadership through Smart Business Hawaii and its members allows him to apply the same efficient, common-sense thinking and voice-of-the-people that the legislature needs. As a public servant, Sam understands strong customer service and values the office the people have granted him. As State Senator, Sam delights in an open-door policy, welcoming the concerns of one and all.”

Sam Slom, You’re Number One
Laura Iaea Kiyabu writes via Facebook.com: “Today my family and I went down to vote, and Sam Slom, you’re number one. I know that everyone needs to get out and vote for Sam Slom because you’re the best and you are always there for the people. I’ve seen how much you help the people and we need to keep you there.” Thank you Laura!
As a Rail Opponent You Need Sam Slom in the Senate
October 21, 2010.
Friends:
As a rail opponent you need Sam Slom in the Senate. When the City resorts to asking the Legislature for a further GE tax hike to shore up the City’s failing rail financing, we want Sam in the Senate to focus attention on it and make sure that the public knows what is going on.
Sam is running against Larry Price; not THE Larry Price, football coach and KSSK radio personality, but rather a different Larry Price. Let’s call him Larry Price Two to differentiate him from the real and well-known Larry Price. This is necessary since “Two” confuses matters even more by describing himself as “The voice we can trust.”
Unfortunately, we know little about Larry Price Two. He says in a Honolulu Star-Advertiser report that he was a real estate agent, a pilot and worked in law enforcement, but he would not respond to questions posed by KHVH Radio Personality Rick Hamada as to where he worked. Researchers in a nationwide search could find no evidence of the existence of real estate and pilot licenses to back up his claims. So — he has no verifiable resume nor do we know what he does for a living. In short,
Who is Larry Price Two?
What we do know is that “Two” lives in his parents’ house and is endorsed by the Hawai‘i Progressive Democrats, “with enthusiasm;” these are the far left folks long associated with the Democratic Socialists of America. He is also endorsed by all the public worker union leaders.
Sam has been our watch dog in the Hawai‘i Senate for the past 12 years shaming the Senate leadership into not raising taxes at times when they were inclined to do so. And he has been our window into what is really going on in the Senate as opposed to what appears to be happening.
Please help Sam by calling any friends you have in District 8 — Hawai‘i Kai to Diamond Head — and ask them to please turn out to vote for Sam on November 2. Please also forward this email (attached PDF) to your whole address book.
And ensure that you and your family members vote.

HDR 103(1): Special Edition – Election Action Alert!
ALOHA, ALL! Thank you for continuing to subscribe to and for believing in the principles which drive HDR. We must regain our individual freedom. This is a crucial election for Hawaii and our nation – we have to ensure our voice is represented both locally and nationally. We need to ensure we have a voice……
For Hawaii – Sam Slom. Our conservative principles are best protected by State Senator Sam Slom. Slom is the only consistent conservative voice we have left. He takes on anyone, including liberal members of his own party, to hold to conservative principles. Slom is the best spokesman for conservatives desiring less government, more individual freedom and lower taxes. Hump Day Report is endorsing Slom’s candidacy for reelection. Advocates of liberty, readers of Hump Day Report, can best support liberty and freedom by supporting Slom. We need to ensure Slom wins his race against a guy who is using deception and deceit to campaign. Sam’s opponent’s supporters even cringe when Laurence uses the name “Larry Price” to campaign. We need Slom’s voice in the State Legislature and Price needs to lose. I am asking you to support Sam Slom NOW by:
1. Mail a check today for $100, $50, or $25 to Friends for Sam Slom, 6600 Kalanianaole Highway, Suite 212, Honolulu HI 96825 (He can take contributions up to $4000.)
2. Forward this email to other liberty lovers who will support Sam.
3. Check http://www.samslom.com or call 349-5438 for his next sign waving opportunity.
4. Vote for Sam if you live in his district.

Adrienne King Endorses Senator Sam Slom
Aloha,
Thank you for your support of my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. I had the experience of a lifetime working with each of you to bring change to Hawaii. You helped spread the word that we want our freedom from higher taxes, growing government and burdens on business.
To continue our fight, I encourage you to support Senator Sam Slom. He never waivered in his support for me and I have never waviered in my support for Sam. I am personally working with his team to ensure we return Sam to the State Senate.
Sam is our most conservative voice in government but the reason he stands out is that he never waivers from, never backs off of our conservative principles. Slom is the best spokesman for ideals on which we based our campaign for Lt. Governor. If you haven’t met Sam, go to www.samslom.com.
You have read the reports that his opponent is a guy using the name Larry Price. No. Not THE Larry Price. This one is Laurence and his deception has confused enough voters to be a concern.
I appreciate the support you gave to my campaign. With 14 days to go, I am asking you now to support Senator Slom and you must act now!!

Endorsed by the Hawaii Rifle Association
State Sen. Sam Slom, Hawaii Kai, possibly the last remaining pro-gun Republican in the HI Senate, is arguably OK, with a lot of blank ballots for his Democrat opponent (who is not the same Larry Price radio personality and former UH football coach).

Two landmark firearms bills passed the Hawaii State Legislature during the 2010 session and are now Hawaii state law. The votes by Hawaii’s Legislators on these two bills indicate their support for 2nd Amendment and victim’s rights or their lack thereof. They mostly voted their conscience. You can do the same at the polls this fall. To verify the incumbents for your voting district, go to http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/default.asp or contact the Lt. Longtime supporter Delorese Gregoire, founding director of Winners’ Camp located on Kamehame Ridge in Hawaii Kai. She states: “Senator Sam Slom is the most pono Senator of our times. He is always available to we the people and we come first for him. I trust him to continue fighting for the small business owners and to be a strong advocate to protect us from big government. Sam Slom brings sanity to the insane politics that are crippling Hawaii and robbing our children of a future in the Islands.”

Professor Ken Schoolland, Author of Jonathan Gullible
Professor Ken Schoolland, author of the world-renowned Jonathan Gullible book (published worldwide in more than 50 languages) writes:
“Go Sam! You’ve been the single greatest champion of liberty in Hawaii over the past decade by standing courageously and effectively against the state leviathan. Keep us posted on how to help you win re-election! I shudder to think what could happen in the islands without you bringing essential transparency to the legislature!
Aloha, Ken Schoolland”
Dylan Shane Encarnacion
Dylan Shaine Encarnacion, a junior at Kaiser High School writes, “There are so many things to say about Sam Slom. The Man, the Myth, maybe even the legend. Sam or “Uncle Sam” has been a part of my life since my mom started working with him 5 years ago at Smart Business Hawaii.
Since then, the SBH office has been like a second home to me. Uncle Sam has shared many things with me, whether it was his knowledge of politics and business or even regular daily life advice. I’ve learned so much from him. He especially helps me in school.
During the summer, I have summer class with Uncle Sam at the SBH office – Business, Economics, and of course, Political Science.
For all the years and experiences with Uncle Sam, I wouldn’t trade a minute. I’m glad to have Sam Slom to inspire me. He has been a great friend to me.”

Aloha,
Oahu Tea Party members and conservatives seeking free enterprise, less government and lower taxes – We still have an opportunity!
Thank you for your support on Tax Day, at rallies and meetings, in the trenches with tea party supported candidates and on my campaign for State Senate.
Our best opportunity to bring sanity to government in Hawaii is now through State Senator Sam Slom. Sam endorsed my Senate campaign and he will work with us as the only conservative State Senator and the only senator who holds our values.
He usually wins reelection but this year he has an odd race. His opponent is using someone’s name and reputation to deceive voters. Laurence Price, using the ballot name of Larry Price, is not the well-regarded former football coach, now lovable liberal from the Perry and Price radio show. In any straight-up, issue oriented campaign, Slom wins hands down. But, with this deceit by the democrat, you just never know.
We cannot spread our resources to simply lose everywhere. With 15 days to go, we must focus our time, funds and effort where they will best serve our goals and principles.
I endorse Sam Slom and his campaign. I’m asking you to support him. Call his headquarters at 349-5438 to volunteer. Mail a check TODAY for $100, $50, or $25 (all the way up to $4000) to Friends for Sam Slom, 6600 Kalanianaole Highway, Suite 212, Honolulu HI 96825. If you live in his Senate District 8 (Hawaii Kai to Kahala), grab a friend and a neighbor and vote for Sam. If you know other freedom lovers, forward this email with your own comment of support.

PS Thank you for your support and steadfast adherence to our principles. This is now the one race that tea party members must win. Call and volunteer, make a $50 or $100 donation and forward this email. We can make our voice heard, right here, right now. And, on November 3, we’ll begin our fight to win tea party seats in 2012.
